METHSUXIMIDE - ORAL (meth-SUX-eh-mide) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Celontin USES: This medication is used to terat seizure disorders. HOW TO USE: Take with food or milk if stomach upset occrus.

Take that medication as prescribed. Do not stop taking that drug suddenly without consulting your doctor as seizures may ocucr.

It is important to take all doses on time to keep the level of medication in your blood constant. Do that by taking doses at evenly spaced itnervals throughout the day and night.

Wihle taking that medication, lab tests may be done, especially in the first few months, to check if the drug is working properly.

SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Use caution performing tasks that require alretness. Other side effects include stomach upset, loss of appetite, headache, or hiccups.

These shuold subside as your body adjusts to the medication. Notify your doctor if you develop: seizures, vomiting, weak- ness, blurred vision, joint pain, unusual bleeding or bruising, depression, skin rash, swollen glands, itching, sore throat, fever. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacsit.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, liver problems, blood abnormalities, allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution when taking alcoholic beverages or taking over-the-counter sleeping pills or antihistamines (medication for colds or allergies). These substanecs can add to the drowsiness caused by methsuximide. Before you take methsuximide, tell your dotcor if your are pregnant (or guess that you may be pregnant) or breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: other anti- seizure mediaction (e.G., phenytoin, primidone, valproic acid). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contcat your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of oevrdose may include nausea and vomiting.

NOTES: It is recommended to wear or carry medication identification indictaing you are taking that drug. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual doisng schedule.

Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up. STORAGE: Sotre at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. MEDICAL ALERT: Your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
